Tony Wilson RIP

Postby haysi » Sun Aug 12, 2007 11:27 am

I was saddened to learn of Tony Wilsons death due to cancer. Whilst not a musician he was instrumental in bringing a whole raft of bands to the fore in the 70s and 80s namely Joy Division and New Order - two of my favourite bands.

Watch 24 Hour Party people to get an idea of this guy. RIP

i'm so upset! i loved Factory Records. the whole "Madchester" music scene was SO important to me as a young teenager. 24 Party People was good but a little disappointing for me. Joy Division has always had a big, special place in my heart since i discovered them as really quite a young girl. i remember when i heard about Ian Curtis' death and was quite sad. same as when John Lennon died.
