i thought it was okay.
it got lots of bad reviews here which all seem to originate from mainly one source, which i happen to strongly disagree with. i do think that the fighting scenes ijn the end were too much a "look what we can do with our new computer toys now!" thing, and certain lines in the story could have been more indepth while others could have been skipped alltogether (the marriage? wtf???), but overall i thought it pretty decent.

it definitely was not nearly as crap as the matrix part 2 and 3.

what peeved me was how some plot lines were developed, then abandoned, like the calypso. she became pretty crabby....

others were dragged out as in the various father figures.

mind you, the more jack sparrows, the better!

It would be better with Jack Penguins, not Sparrows. :teach:

I still haven't seen it... everyone tells me it got horrible reviews back home, but here in Spain they seem to love it. I was thinking of watching the Spanish version, but apparently it's confusing enough in English?

calypso was indeed very much a missed opportunity, they could have done so much more with that. when we left the theater we both had the feeling that they were kinda stuck there so they just went for the ewasy way out...

it is quite confusing.
apart from that, is there any reason whatsoever to not see anything in its original language?

not understanding a word of it comes to mind...

it was dreadfully confusing. mind you, i'm not one of your brightest and i hadn't a clue as to what was going on most of the time.

Like Angel said, we thought it was ok but you do leave the cinema thinking there was something lacking. Definitely a need for less 'clutter' as it were. I agree in that Calypso could have been used a lot better and yet overall I enjoyed it.
Who can't enjoy Jack Sparrow x many?!

It also screams out for a part 4...I just hope they move along to a new plot and get rid of some of the old if they venture down that path again.

I saw a bootleg video of it last night. Not nearly as impressive or anywhere near as interesting as the first two, even with the added Jacks! My niece was going to show it to her two little kids, but I think they would be hard pressed to retain interest past the first three minutes.

i really enjoyed it! i enjoyed the whole Calypso storyline and wished that could have been a little more in the 2nd one. the 2nd one felt so stilted to me because of the lack of Barbossa. i was happy Chow Yun-Fat was in this one and Geoffrey Rush got lots of screen time!

and Keira Knightley needs to gain about 15 pounds. she's way too skinny. ugh!

It was better than the second, I´ll have to give it that. I loved that they made references to the earlier movies, but they made it only half a point, and didn´t see it through. Same with Calypso. What was all this "when I am free again they will pay!" thing when the captains survived? The only movie of those worth anything was the first. the next two is just as I expected: when they get a hit, milk the cow for all it is worth! Come on guys! make a better storyline! or at least finish those you begin.

The first one was the best one, I didn’t much care for this one and there must be a forth one. As usual they end up making far many than need and ruin the film.
