I'm kinda surprised no-one mentioned the tank top! Strangely, that also belonged to the same cousin as the blue romper suit (dress as Haysi so kindly put it). By age 20 as I was then; I'd started working in London and was living with his family here in Bedford.

Yes, I knew. It was originally called "Beda's Ford". So my full name ends up meaning (the Bedford part in bold):

The manly river crossing owned by the battle maiden where cranes nest.

"Manly river crossing"? How exactly would you have an unmanly river crossing? Pink rocks in the riverbed?

Probably.

I had always imagined a penguin dressed as a valkyre along a strong stone bridge, with cranes (the bird, not the machines) all along it.

That is a really great picture. I could see that on the cover of Time or National Geographic or something.

While I'm waiting for a few slides from my childhood to be "digitized," here's a shot of me with my mom and my younger sister taken about 25 years ago...I'm on the right -- and far skinnier and cuter than I am today

I've wanted to post this picture and since the rest of you guys have been brave enough to post yours, here's mine. I think I was about 4 and my mom had a professional child photographer come to the house. This was apparently the favorite as it sat on top of our TV forEVer in an elaborate gold and silk frame. Did I mention I was an only child of older parents?
