that requires a degree. i ain't into that schooling bullshit.

plus, i loathe children. i don't think ANYONE wants me molding young minds!!!! i couldn't take it! ugh!

i'll just keep shuffling along. we get crappy vacations in this country no matter what. even teachers have to struggle. they might get more vacation but they have to go without pay for that 2 months. they don't get paid during the summer here. unless they choose to break up their pay over 12 months. it's a total racket and a big fat gip.

My daughter teaches elementary school and the pay schedule is much as you say. She can be paid only during the school session or it can be spread out over the entire year. Her salary is not any less than that of a person working the full year would be. Teacher unions are pretty good about seeing to that. Furthermore, after a certain number of years teaching in a given district, she is tenured. Essentially that means she has to be offered a new contract every year until she retires. Talk about job security.

It is also true that she gets the equivalent of 52 weeks pay for only being on the job 37 (+/-) weeks. However, her work day is seldom less than 10 hours long and she does have to put up with a room full of snot nosed little second graders all day long. She loves it. Go figure.
Inside every older person is a younger person wondering what the hell happened.

I'm right with her on that one Yogi, I love the little ones, they're so funny and cute and they bring out my maternal instincts I guess

Offering you a change of career... that's all!

I need a Nanny - preferably one a bit like Nanny McPhee. :D

Listen - if I can cope with a whole room full......four and you will be well within my capabilities......

.........on second thoughts......four AND you???......hmmmmm....I might just have to find you something to twiddle with on your own to keep you out of mischief :juggle: ...I have a feeling you'd be more trouble than the other four put together!

I just need to know a few things! Consider this part one of your interview.

Do you have a drink problem?

Do you look like a man in drag?

Are you liable to become a bunny boiler?

Will you be after my mates and then strenuously deny it?
