Cobalt Replaces Chunk

Post by forumadmin »

The Chunk Style template has been deleted, and my apologies to anyone who has been using it. I added a new style and had to delete one in order to do it.

Cobalt 2.0 has been added and may not be for everyone. It's designed for folks who need a larger font and better contrast to view our boards. However, even if the large font makes you scroll too much, the color scheme is one of the more pleasant ones I've seen.

I tried Cobalt for a few minutes. I liked it, but I had to switch back for a few reasons.

1) the Forum titles were too huge, especially to the detriment of the Subject of each thread.
2) It was impossible to tell which page on a multi-page thread I was on.

A few tweaks here and there, and I'd happily switch to Cobalt. :D

I felt exactly the same as Glitterfang - loved the colours, shading and overall appeal of the skin but the titles were too large, even for my old eyes !!

I'm not sure what buttons are not distinct. All the important ones seem to be readable without my glasses.

And, BTW, the PM alterts seem to work well with this style.

i'm talking about the light blue ones for EDIT, PM, etc. they rather blend into the back ground. i do see them find myself, but perhaps ask someone with a bit of a vision problem. a bit more than me....

I see what the general feel for the new style is, and I appreciate the critical comments. That is just the thing that makes this site dynamic and responsive to the needs of it's users. Not that I'm going to delete that style any time soon

I did, however, make an improvement with the help of one of our most creative and talented members. Check out the Cobolt style if for no other reason than to view the new logo. I love it and I think you will too.

nothing to do with talent, it's just a question of preference, i find those colours, combined, jarring. in most cases men and women differ in colour choices and it's not just because they actually see colours differently.

i myself am lousy at picking colours, but very good at criticizing....

Hmmm...

Cobalt 2.0 must have been modified since the last post here. Nice color scheme and all, but the letters don't look any larger to me than in the original.

I can see that someof the buttons are hard to see, being not too much difference in color from the background in some places, but they are perfectly readable to me.
