I think most of us have moved over to the New Brainformation - it's mentioned in News, but the link is:-

Bermbits: As you know, a few weeks ago we started testing new software that could be applied to this site. The initial team of testers did a marvelous job and we all learned a lot in the process. Even though the software is not in it's final (stable) release, I felt it was good enough to invite the entire Brainformation membership over to neoBrainformation to become familiar with all it's features. My goal is to keep both sites going until the stable release version is available. At that time we will decide what is to be done with this site.

Apparently neoBrainformation is going over so well, that not too many people come back here to post. I can't say that I blame them. The new board is feature rich, and the new faces in the group of people we assimilated when their home web site was dissolved has provided a great deal of variety that is not available here.

I think all and all I prefer this BF as opposed to the Neo, but if everyone is over at the new...

Is there something that can be done to neoBrainformation to make it more comfortable for you?

Or to put it another way, what is it about this site that makes it more attractive then the new one?

Personally, I'd like to see the forums set up more like this site. "Mansion" isn't intuitively obvious. "Flame Throwers" is.

The layout of neoBrainfromation has changed from the day it was introduced. Perhaps you have missed some of those alterations. Give the new site another look and see if it isn't more in line with your expectations.

I do agree that there has been a slight change in emphasis to recognize the interest of the European members of Brainformation. A forum containing three sub-forums and named The Pub was introduced. However, only one new addition was made therein, Mixology. Not a good choice of names I admit, and I will rename it if something better comes along. The idea in that forum is to provide a common ground for our EU members to gather.

Bawdy Stories is our Adult Content forum, and I didn't think it was too great a leap of the imagination to recognize that.

The Dungeon is the rough equivalent of Flame Throwers in this forum. The emphasis on flaming other members was deliberately removed in renaming that forum, and in fact a rule was put in place to discourage it. The wrong message was being broadcast in the old name in that it suggested we encouraged flaming of individuals.

The rest of the site is all there. We now have the ability to make sub-forums which makes the layout appear more compact, but I do not think we are missing anything in the new site that is here in the old site. It just takes a little less scrolling down the page to see it now.

Having said all the above, please don't hesitate to offer specific suggestions regarding the layout. I try to be responsive to our member's needs. I'd even encourage you to post your suggestions in "Gurus Ate Us" so that the rest of the community could have their inputs as well.
